Builth Wells: Builth Wells lies is an old market town at an important crossing point of the River Wye. The existing castle was built by Edward 1 and the town was substantially destroyed in the late 17th century by fire. In the 18th century it became a popular spa town and today the Royal Welsh Show is held in the grounds of nearby Llanelwedd Hall.
